Christmas Goodies {& Sonos Giveaway!}

Sonos Giveaway

I’ve just unloaded groceries, and they consist of record amounts of butter, yeast, flour and sugar. I’m getting ready for my annual marathon baking session, which, depending on how ambitious I am, will yield 16-24 Cinnamon Twist Coffee Cakes for delivery to neighbors and friends.

If you love spending time in the kitchen, do you always have a “soundtrack” going? I do! Especially during these “marathon” sessions… Right now I’ve got a strange, but great mix of Christmas music – Michael Bublé, Chris Tomlin, Dean Martin, Willie Nelson & Kelly Clarkson, just to name a few.

I’m especially excited about this post, because my friends at Sonos know that I am always listening to music when I cook, so they are partnering with me for my FIRST EVER Raisin & Fig Giveaway!

When we did our remodel last year, we figured it was time to get into the new millennium and upgrade our sound system. We kept hearing about Sonos and our audio guy recommended it as well. I have to say, it’s one of my favorite parts of the finished project! I can be anywhere in the house and using my Mac, my iPhone or my iPad, easily change what I’m listening to and adjust the volume. When chopping gets tedious, I just pick another genre, and crank it up!

christmas goodies tags

By the way, I love these tags – since these coffee cakes sometimes go into someone’s freezer, I like that they are clearly marked with who they’re from, what’s inside that foil package, and instructions for reheating. These tags are from Labels by the Sheet and come 6 to a page {perforated}, and work great with a laser printer.

This giveaway has ended. Congratulations to Andrew from North Charleston, South Carolina!  Happy listening, and Merry Christmas!

You can read the official disclaimer in the contest widget, but Sonos has provided the prize for this giveaway, and as a thank you to me for running the contest, sent me an additional speaker for the system we purchased with our remodel.  My enthusiasm for the product is genuine and in no way influenced by their generosity.

    My “Husband” has created a Christmas playlist from the oodles and oodles of Christmas compilations I’ve acquired over years of being a holiday song lover. As I listen in the kitchen working on my caramels…yes, on their way to your house…I particularly LOVE Josh Groban’s “Oh Holy Night.” Oh, How I Love That Voice!

    Amos Lee is definitely at the top of the list. However, there’s nothing like an African gospel choir to kick it up a notch. Just try not to be happy while watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt-yOpEfZIE
